The 2026 Jeep Wrangler delivers legendary 4x4 capability, open-air cabin and an expanded suite of advanced safety tech.
New quick-release door hinges make it easier to remove the doors and roof panels, transforming the Wrangler into an immersive driving experience of fresh air and unobstructed views of surrounding scenery.
The Wrangler’s interior design team has also introduced Tungsten-colored stitching on the steering wheel, which replaces a previous red finish. This updated contrast stitching gives the interior a cohesive appearance that reinforces the Wrangler’s rugged personality.
The utility vehicle is available in Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon and Rubicon X trim levels, alongside an electrified 4xe lineup.
Drivers negotiating rocky trails can opt for off-roading Rubicon trims, fitted with a durable steel front bumper that provides additional protection against rocks, ruts and other trail obstacles.
Drivers can make your Wrangler a bit more distinctive with the latest options. Jeep reintroduced several iconic exterior colors including Mojito, Tuscadero, Anvil, Earl, Reign, Joose and the limited production Goldilocks paint finish.
Under the Hood
The 2026 Wrangler comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 producing 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
An optional 2.0-liter engine delivers 270 hp and 295 Ib-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Jeep’s 2026 Wrangler’s 4xe plug-in hybrid syncs with a 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors and a 17.3 lithium ion battery pack that produces a combined 375 hp and 470 Ib-ft of torque.
Drivers can choose between Hybrid, Electric and eSave drive modes which allow the Wrangler 4xe to automatically blend gasoline and electric power for optimal performance, operate on all-electric power for short trips or conserve battery energy for later use.
A gamut of advanced off-road technologies enhances the Wrangler’s capability in demanding road conditions:
- Select Speed Control: Automatically manages throttle and braking during low-speed accents and descents, allowing drivers to focus on the steering wheel.
- 4x4 System (Rubicon models): Features a 4:1 low-range transfer case that delivers exceptional crawl capability over rocks and steep inclines.
- Electronic Locking Differentials: Distribute torque to the wheels with the most traction for optimal grip in challenging terrain.
- Electronic Front Sway Bar Disconnect (Rubicon models): Increases the front suspension and helps tires maintain better contact on uneven terrain.
2-Door and 4-Door Configurations
The 2-door Wrangler seats four passengers and is equipped with longer front doors for easier entry and exit.
A shorter wheelbase offers maneuverability on narrow forest roads and off-road terrain. The compact cargo area is well suited for solo travelers or couples planning late-summer and early-fall weekend getaways.
Jeep’s 4-door Wrangler seats five passengers and is equipped with rear doors that make loading child safety seats and outdoor gear more convenient.
A longer wheelbase provides additional rear-seat legroom and increased cargo capacity for camping supplies and recreational equipment.
The 2-door can tow 2,000 pounds, while the 4-door has an increased capacity of 3,500 pounds for utility trailers and boats. A maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds is available on the high-end Rubicon models.
Drivers who spend most of their time commuting alone or with one passenger and making sharp turns or handling rough trails will prefer the 2-door Wrangler.
Those who regularly travel with family or friends, need easier second-row access and want additional cargo space or plan to tow heavier loads will find the 4-door vehicle better suited to their lifestyle.
Comfort and Convenience
A standard 12.3-inch touchscreen serves as the centerpiece of the cabin and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, single-zone manual climate control, three USB ports and an eight-speaker audio system.
Jeep’s Sahara, Rubicon and Rubicon X models add leather trimmed seating, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and nine-speaker premium audio system.
Engineers have enhanced the interior technology of the 2026 vehicle with a larger display multimedia system that features faster processing speed and easier access to controls for busy streets or remote trails.
Jeep has also upgraded its Off-Road Trail Guides through the infotainment system, providing detailed trail information, difficulty ratings and downloadable maps even with no cellular service.
